Panic attack

It's like one second of eternity
My painting practice is a reaction to and rejection of the rigidity, tidiness, and conventions of responsibility. I’m moved primarily by the interaction of color and form, and find and apply other meaning as I go. I work with oils and acrylics and solvents and whatever. The resulting paintings are layered and physical, hovering between clarity and confusion, and the work that emerges is assigned meaning from my memories. I want to be free from a stylistic perspective as well and cultivate a body of work as diverse as the artists that inspire me. In painting, I’m seeking a kind of freedom I can’t find anywhere else: a place where things can remain unresolved and free from expectation.
